Beerflow or Beer-Floh?

We had Aaron and Brendan over for dinner yesterday (Tina is in Auckland) and Flo tried another one of the local beers. It all kinda started back in Germany with Peter finding NZ brewed DB draught beer in Zurich and buying two cans of it for Flo. Flo really liked it…

Since we’re in Wellington, he is really impressed with the variety of beer and started to try his way through the brands (slowly as alcohol is quite expensive). Yesterday at the dinner, our two guests came up with the idea of Flo writing a diary or even better a blog about all the beers he tries and what he thinks of them. A possible name that came up was beerflow which I slightly changed into Beer-Floh. =P I don’t think Flo will go for a seperate blog but maybe he will write about some on here…

I don’t remember what he’s tried so far, I only know that he had the best beer so far in the brühaus. The brühaus is a place completely dedicated to beer (I think they got brüh and bräu mixed up…) and with a bit of pre-tasting, Flo ended up with a bottle that cost 17$NZ. O.O At least they also sold hot chocolate.

The other beer I remember is the Tuatara brand as they have six beers that are quite European/German: Tuatara Helles, Tuatara Pilsner, Tuatara Hefe, Tuatara Pale Ale, Tuatara Ardennes and Tuatara London Porter. Very weird…

Alright, the weekend is coming up and we plan to go up into the Rimutaka Forest Park with a whole bunch of people. Ian, a friend of Tina’s and Brendan’s has booked Papatahi hut from Friday to Sunday to stay there and walk around. So far, our plan is to go up on Friday, use the whole of Saturday to get up to the summit of Mount Matthews (941m) and back to the hut again and have a relaxed Sunday to get back. =)

*lol* Where have you seen pigeons in the woods? Is it on google?

We will see if Flo gets around to it but I don’t think so. 🙂

Did not see, only hear the pigeons. We saw tones an tones of all devastating possum poo, though. Evil critters. They basically murder or eat everything that is native New Zealand. Rimu, Kiwis …
