Karori Wildlife Sanctuary

Today, it was a lovely day! It was sunny, it was warm and it felt like spring! =D

So I made it outside. I went to Karori to go for a walk. I can’t believe that I never made it there when I lived here! O.O What was I thinking?!? *shakes head about herself*

That was on Monday night before I went to the movies.

Look at the water: Almost no wind.

sun set and smooth water. I was very tempted to go in.

Horse relaxing in front of the heater.
Ida told me I killed it cause it looks like a dead possum. O.o I’m very fortunate to only have seen dead possums on the street so far and it just looks like any other animal hit by a car.

See…the heater

We switch to today now. =) I know I take too many pictures. I’m just such a city child! I always go “ooh, ooh, look, it’s green”. =P

Karori…still on the way to the sanctuary

I missed walking around…

One of the feeding stations. There is a “bellbird” (?) on it.

no scarf and no winter jacket =)

It was awesome! I don’t have any tramping gear with me which means that I can only do certain tracks but I loved it anyway.
I arrived there in pure sunshine which made it really warm. I took off my scarf and my winter jacket. =)
The guy at the counter was very nice and told me where I could see tuatara today, marked a way that would be nice to walk right now, not too muddy, and I think he gave me the guides for free. I also bought ice cream just to celebrate that it was warm for once. =P
And then I finally walked though NZ nature again. Felt really good. I felt home again…
